Anubis is an Egyptian deity of whom is aligned to the energies of Death, Protection and the Alleviation of Fear. He is shown to be a tall man with the head of a black Jackal, holding a golden staff and a jar of a type of incense known as ‘Kyphi’. Anubis often travels with his twin brother, Wepwawet, as they work together to help many.
Being aligned to the energy of Death, Anubis helps those who are crossing to the afterlife by guiding them through the realms. As he does so, Anubis fights off any negative energies that try to hinder the soul’s journey to the afterlife. He does this by using his Kyphi. As this smoulders, it releases an energetic smoke that negative energies cannot stand and thus they leave the travellers alone.
While Anubis helps the soul of the deceased person, he also helps those who are grieving. He does this by being a comforting shoulder that people can cry on and he also helps to provide a sense of assurance that the loved one that has crossed is safe. As Anubis does this, he also keeps negative energies at bay that would feed on the grief energy that people emit at times of great sadness.
In doing this, Anubis also helps to alleviate Fear. Such fear can include someone not feeling safe in life, fear of being alone and fear of Death. When called upon, Anubis comes forth and uses his Kyphi as an uplifting scent that instils positive energy into the recipient. This way they can rise above fear and know that they are a loved being in the Cosmos.
Whilst Anubis holds each of his roles close to his heart, he respects everyone’s Free Will and as such will not act unless one asks for the help. As such, a prayer is an ideal way to ask for his and God’s help. An example of a prayer that can be utilised is:
‘Dearest God and Anubis, I ask that you keep my loved ones safe in both this life and the next as well as helping me to rise above the fears that hinders me. For this, I give thanks. Amen.’
A simple, yet very effective in bringing forth their assistance and help. Though it is very important to always remember to give thanks for all that they do.
With such help being bestowed upon anyone and everyone from God and Anubis, it is easy to see that anyone and everyone can be free from any fears that hold them back from being who they were born to be. It is also good to stop every now and then and give thanks to God and Anubis for all the help they give.
