Durga

Goddess Durga

DurgaDurga is a deity who is known to be the Goddess of Victory, Karma Clearing and Protection in Hindu Cosmology. As such she is often depicted as a fierce woman with anywhere between four and a thousand arms riding upon a roaring tiger. In her hands she holds many items including discuses, tridents, bowls of water, pots of Amrita and swords.

With her association of Victory, Durga is a fantastic being to call upon when times are rough and failure seems to be the most likely outcome. She can strive forth upon her tiger and clear out any negative energies that are hindering the task at hand. Anyone and everyone can ask Durga for assistance in this and she will help in the best way she knows how with God’s blessing.

As she clears out these energies, Durga can also clear out any Karmic Ties to people, places and things that have latched on from past events. She does so with her discus that spins through the air, severing the ties and gathering them up like a spider web in a strong wind. In doing so she frees anyone and everyone from any guilt and obligations of the past on an energetic level.

While such a process is being done, the person going through such a cleansing, or indeed, during any time of change, can feel vulnerable and unsafe. Durga stands strong with this person and keeps them safe from any wayward energies that are not for the highest of good of the person involved. She does so to ensure that the person is happy and free from hindrances.

Whilst Durga holds each of her roles close to her heart, she respects everyone’s Free Will and as such will not act unless one asks for the help. As such, a prayer is an ideal way to ask for her and God’s help. An example of a prayer that can be utilised is:

‘Dearest God and Durga, please help me to be free of my past so that I may go forth in the present day victorious, sure footed and safe. For this, I give thanks. Amen.’

A simple, yet very effective in bringing forth their assistance and help. Though it is very important to always remember to give thanks for all that they do.

With the the Release of Karmic Ties, Victory and Protection being bestowed on everyone, it can be easy to not notice such things as they can be taken for granted. It is a good thing for everyone to stop and give thanks to God and Durga for these things so that all can be aware of these wondrous blessings in life.
